VACATION CABINS AT THE LAZY BUFFALO
The Craterville Park Cabin is named in honor of the legacy founded by the Frank S. Rush Family 100 years ago when he opened Craterville Park just a few miles north of our location. The original Craterville Park produced generations of memories and offered recreation and entertainment like nowhere else in Oklahoma.
Catch zzz in an actual Jon Boat! The Going Fishing Cabin is a tranquil haven for outdoor enthusiasts. You'll be hooked after just one stay. Fun Fact: fishing is open year around in the Wichita Mountains and with 13 lakes = 500 plus acres of refuge waters with species of large mouth bass, sunfish, crappie, and channel catfish, there are ample fishing opportunities nearby.

arrived by rail in heavy crates.
Even Quanah Parker was there
to witness this historic event.

Belle Starr , Jesse James, among others were said to have used the Wichita Mountains to hide treasures and evade the law. Rumor is the hidden treasure from these bands of outlaws is still waiting to be discovered.
The Iron Door cabin is a tribute to a fabled treasure buried high in a cave in the Wichita Mountains. Will you find these legendary riches?

The cabins include a spacious, tiled walk-in shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are design elements used throughout. The dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant touch.
Watch an Oklahoma sunset from the covered front porch and enjoy a picnic at the outdoor pavilion with charcoal grill. When it gets dark, roast marshmallows on the fire pit or relax under the stars from atop a vintage pickup truck. Both young and old will make memories playing checkers, wa-hoo, and tossing horseshoes. Check out the surprise in the Outhouse which is one of our fun photo ops at The Lazy Buffalo.

Even though we are located at the intersection of two highways
(Scenic Hwy 115 and US Hwy 62)
we still have that rural feel.
The Lazy Buffalo cabin rentals are a half mile from the original
